Columbus, OH – Nationwide issued the following statement today regarding recent media reports focusing on the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC):
More than a decade ago, Nationwide made the business decision not to continue its relationship with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), which includes providing any monetary donations or membership fees. Nationwide values its partnerships and membership associations and determined that this relationship did not serve the best interests of our customers and stakeholders. As a mutual company, we exist to serve our customers, and it’s important to us to be involved in the communities we serve while supporting the organizations that share our mission of improving quality of life and protecting what matters most.
